Why I am passionate about making healthcare work better

I see healthcare as one of our Nation’s most complex challenges.  As an eternal optimist, I see the opportunity for better healthcare at the same cost or, even better, less.  I’ve focused on the healthcare landscape and building teams to solve its most complex challenges for my entire career.  I thrive working with others who also believe in the power of a team.

My Experience

Steve founded Armitage Advisors in 2019 and is the firm’s Managing Partner. In this role, Steve leads the team at Armitage and serves as a trusted advisor for remarkable companies across the US who share in our mission to Make Healthcare Work Better.

Steve graduated from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, spending time outdoors and sneaking out to play 18 holes of golf.

Why I am passionate about making healthcare work better

Healthcare is a unique field in that it directly impacts and makes a difference in the communities in which it serves. I am passionate about finding ways to improve the accessibility and affordability of healthcare in partnership with our client partners. Some may dislike that there is no finish line in healthcare, but the reality is our work will never be done.

My Experience

Austin joined Armitage in 2020 and serves as a Director and the head of the Chicago office. Austin partners with remarkable clients to help their leadership teams navigate complex and transformational healthcare opportunities. Austin has spent an extensive amount of time creating, facilitating, and implementing long-term growth strategies in government programs, federal contracting, and commercial markets, including new business ventures, go-to-market launches and strategic partnership formations

Prior to joining Armitage, Austin served on the leadership team at a boutique healthcare consulting firm.

Austin graduated from Valparaiso University. Outside of work, Austin enjoys working out, reading, real estate, traveling, and spending time in the yard with his two golden doodles.

Why I am passionate about making healthcare work better

The healthcare industry is highly complex and is consistently undergoing rapid change and transformation. These dynamics can result in a complicated process for consumers to receive the proper care that they deserve. At Armitage, I help our clients solve their toughest challenges to positively impact a consumer’s healthcare experience.

My Experience

Mike joined Armitage in 2020 and is currently a Director. Mike focuses on strategy development and implementation for healthcare clients. Mike has extensive experience working with senior executives to support the delivery and execution of complex healthcare projects.

Prior to joining Armitage, Mike worked on the network strategy team at BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois where he focused on provider contracting and reimbursement strategy projects.

Mike graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Outside of work, Mike enjoys working out, going to baseball games (go Cubs!), and spending time with family and friends.

Why I am passionate about making healthcare work better

Despite being a fundamental industry that each of us depends on, healthcare is inherently complex with challenges facing every stakeholder involved in the care delivery process. As a healthcare consultant, I am afforded the opportunity to work alongside like-minded colleagues and clients to conceptualize and implement innovative solutions to these universal problems. Our work impacts more than the bottom-line, but also the ability for our family, friends, and peers to have a more positive experience when relying on the healthcare industry to serve their needs.

My Experience

John joined Armitage in 2021 and is currently a Manager. John focuses on supporting healthcare executives with growth strategy initiatives and with financial modeling and analysis. 

Prior to joining Armitage, John worked at Deloitte Consulting in the Technology Services Optimization and Technology Strategy practices where he supported Fortune 500 companies with enterprise technology, strategy, and business management engagements. 

John graduated from the University of Notre Dame. Outside of work, John enjoys golfing, spending time with friends and family in Chicago, and cheering on the Fighting Irish.

Healthcare is the arena with the biggest potential to positively impact the lives of our families, communities, and the general population. It is immense, ever-changing, and incredibly personal for each of us. We are only beginning to tap into the potential that technology and a customer-driven focus can enable and I’m excited to support healthcare players as they continue to innovate to improve patient and member outcomes.

My Experience

Katharine joined Armitage in 2023 to help clients deliver large implementation programs that modernize and transform their business. She is experienced in developing, implementing, and communicating program strategy for complex, multi-year business and technology projects – from roadmap planning through project delivery.

Prior to joining Armitage, Katharine was a Manager at Deloitte Consulting, where she spent nearly a decade in their Strategy & Analytics practice serving Health Plan and Pharmaceutical clients. Katharine graduated from Indiana University. When she’s not playing with her two daughters, Katharine enjoys reading, gardening, and attempting to master at-home latte art.

With the ever-changing healthcare landscape, I am excited to seize any opportunity to improve care delivery for those in greatest need.

My Experience

Sina joined Armitage in 2022 and is currently a Senior Consultant. Sina focuses on strategic planning for large healthcare clients and has extensive experience performing strategic modeling projects for health systems and health plans. 

Prior to joining Armitage, Sina worked on the Strategy & Business Development Team at Northwestern Medicine where he focused on health system growth strategy projects. 

​Sina graduated from Loyola University Chicago and from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business (MBA). Outside of work, Sina enjoys weightlifting, spending time outdoors, and greeting every dog that walks by.

I am excited to partner with our clients to address operational challenges and to develop innovative solutions to make health care more equitable, accessible, and affordable.

My Experience

​Hannah joined Armitage in 2023 and is currently a Senior Consultant. Prior to joining Armitage, Hannah worked as a Consultant at Optum Advisory within their Health Management and Operations practice, where she supported large healthcare payer clients with operational improvement initiatives. Hannah graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Outside of work, Hannah enjoys playing soccer, running, and reading.

The healthcare industry can be complicated, tedious, and difficult to navigate on every level of the delivery process. It is important to break down organizational barriers and streamline existing processes in healthcare to ensure a more efficient and accessible health system for all. I am passionate about the role of health equity on a structural level, and I am eager to work with clients to advocate and develop effective solutions towards delivering quality care.

My Experience

Ellie joined Armitage in 2022 and is currently a Consultant. Ellie graduated from Butler University. During her time there, Ellie played lacrosse and served as the Team Captain. Ellie was also involved with a local healthcare organization where she administered a COVID-19 testing operations program in the local community. Outside of work, Ellie enjoys watching the Boston Celtics, going on runs, and trying new recipes.​

Quality healthcare should be easily accessible to all, but this reality comes with various challenges. To achieve equitable healthcare, it is important to focus on removing and overcoming common obstacles such as lack of affordability and lack of accessibility.  I am excited to deliver innovative solutions to clients to overcome these barriers and improve the quality of healthcare their consumers receive. 

My Experience

Olivia joined Armitage in 2022 and is currently a Consultant. Olivia graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. During her time there, she was the Department Lead for the Women in Engineering Club where she mentored incoming freshman throughout the year. Olivia also worked at a large biopharmaceutical company where she supported several complex clinical programs. Outside of work, Olivia enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and reading.​

Our communities are centered on public health, and healthcare is what sustains them. Despite this, healthcare remains complicated and rife with challenges pertaining to accessibility and affordability. Consistent, quality healthcare should be the standard and I am thrilled to have a hand in working towards solutions in the arena through client work.

My Experience

​Cameron joined Armitage in 2023 as a Consultant. Prior to joining Armitage, Cameron worked at Rush Medical Center, where she carried out cancer research for pharmaceutical development. Cameron graduated from Northwestern University. While at Northwestern, Cameron served as the captain of the women’s club soccer team. In her free time, Cameron enjoys working out and running with her dog on the lakefront.

I am passionate about supporting individuals to have affordable and accessible healthcare throughout the country, and I am excited to partner with clients who share my passion.

My Experience

Luca joined Armitage in 2023 and is currently a Consultant. Luca graduated from Princeton University. During his time there, Luca was a member of the Men’s Lacrosse team. Luca also served as a student athlete wellness leader, acting as a liaison for athletes to connect with mental health resources. In his free time, Luca enjoys trying new recipes, listening to country music, and working on his golf game.

One’s wellbeing is influenced by many factors, but ultimately, the healthcare industry determines the quality and access to necessary care services. However, the complexity of the industry limits the reach of the system, especially for those with the most needs. Together with a like-minded team, I am determined to formulate effective and affordable healthcare processes that will provide optimal healthcare delivery to clients and patients.

My Experience

Elizabeth joined Armitage in 2023 and is currently a Consultant. Elizabeth graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. During her time there, she instructed and oversaw engineering orientation courses for new students and represented the Bioengineering Department in the Global Leadership Program. Elizabeth also worked at a large pharmaceutical company strategizing regulatory pathways for new products. Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, and cooking.
